More content won’t fix messaging
When results aren’t where you want them to be,
the most common response is to do more.
Post more often.
Show up on more platforms.
Try more formats.
It feels like the logical next step.
If something isn’t working, increase the volume.
But more content doesn’t fix unclear messaging.
It just gives you more opportunities for that message to miss.
Because content is only as effective as what it’s actually saying.
If the message is:
unclear
too broad
or trying to speak to too many different things at once
then increasing output won’t improve results.
It just spreads that same lack of clarity further.
This is where a lot of businesses get stuck.
They’re consistent.
They’re showing up.
They’re doing what they’ve been told should work.
But it still doesn’t translate.
Not because they’re doing the wrong things—
but because the foundation underneath those things isn’t solid.
When the message is clear:
content becomes more focused
it resonates more easily
and it’s easier for people to understand what you do and why it matters
At that point, doing more can help.
But before that, it usually doesn’t.
If your first instinct is to create more content,
it might be worth pausing and asking a different question:
Is what I’m already saying clear?
